Blended Learning

Live in Faith, Learn in Joy

Blended learning is an approach that combines learning in school with distance learning, including online learning.

At St. Saviour's Catholic Primary, we will provide learning activities and learning opportunities through remote teaching to our students, reflecting the teaching within school, should any of our pupils be required to learn from home.

Accessing Remote Education

At St. Saviour's, we use G Suite's Google Classroom as a platform which provides tools for the children to access remotely.  Google Classroom gives access to class resources, tasks and a means of communicating with the teacher.  The teacher is also able to give feedback directly to the child on uploaded work.

For Early Years, we use Tapestry that enables the sharing of ideas, celebration of achievements between home and school.

School and class updates for Years 1 to 6 are provided through Class Dojos.  Parents and children can communicate with staff. Awards are also given via ClassDojo.

What is taught at home?

We teach the same curriculum remotely as we do in school wherever possible and appropriate.  Please refer to our policy on Remote learning and Parent information letter.

We remember that parents are not trained teachers and may not have the specific vocabularly and knowledge that we do. We consider how best to present the learning so that parents can be successful in supporting their child and also encourage children to become more independent learners.
